4th Sport Chanbara European Championship

Ukraine, Odessa 2007 


This 4th Sport Chanbara European Championship was held on last weekend of April 2007 in Odessa (Ukraine). Championship was attended by Japanese delegation, headed by Sport Chanbara founder, Tanabe Tetsundo kaicho. There were following national teams on the tournament: Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Estonia, Belarus, Moldova, Poland, France and Serbia. Unfortunately, teams from Germany, Italy and few more countries that were expected did not show up. In a strong concurrence, Serbian competitor Milos Zec won silver medal in Kyu grade category in choken discipline, and thus became European vice-champion. For this success he is promoted to Shodan Chanbara and is accepted as new KIAI member.  In team fight concurrence Serbia took 4th place. KIAI members from Serbia Ivica Zdravkovic, Srdjan Spasic and Igor Kesic competed and were active as referees during Dan & Kyu competition.

 

Grandchampions in individual concurrence became Yan Poedinkov (Russia) in fights, and Vladislav Petrovsky (Ukraine) in Kata. In team concurrence the first place in fights belonged to Estonia and the best team in kata was Russia. Outstanding performance was shown from French and Latvian teams. Next European Championship will be held during April 2008 in Estonia.

Dana 31. marta i 1. aprila 2007. godine u Odesi (Ukrajina) odrzano je 4. prvenstvo Evrope u Sportskoj Chanbari. Takmicenju je prisustvovala i delegacija iz Japana, predvodjena Tanabe senseijem, osnivacem Sport Chanbare. Na prvenstvu su ucestvovali timovi iz sledecih zemalja: Ukrajina, Rusija, Latvija, Estonija, Belorusija, Moldavija, Poljska, Francuska i Srbija. Na zalost, izostali su timovi iz Italije, Nemacke, i iz jos nekoliko ocekivanih zemalja. U veoma jakoj konkurenciji, takmicari iz Srbije ostvarili su sledece rezultate: Milos Zec - viceprvak Evrope u kategoriji ucenickih pojaseva - seniora u disciplini dugi mac i bronzana medalja u disciplini dva maca; Marija Bosijokovic - cetvrta u kategoriji dece u disciplini Kihon Dosa; Aleksandra Bosijokovic - cetvrta u kategoriji juniora u disciplini dugi mac; Nemanja Jovanovic - cetvri u kategoriji dece u disciplini kratki mac; Adrijana Barsi - cetvrta u kategoriji seniorki u disciplini kratki mac.

 

U konkurenciji timova, tim iz Srbije u sastavu Adijana Barsi, Ivan Obradovic i Milos Zec takodje je zauzeo 4. mesto. Odlicni takmicarski nastup i plasman medju 6 najboljih u kategoriji Kihon dosa ostvario je Srdjan Spasic. On je istovremeno bio i sudija tokom juniorskog takmicenja. Kao sudije tokom seniorskog nadmetanja u ime Srbije sudili su Ivica Zdravkovic i Igor Kesic. Sledece prvenstvo Evrope bice odrzano 26. aprila 2008. godine u Estoniji.

Three KIAI members:

Igor Kesic, chanbara and kenjutsu instructor;

Milos Zec, Serbian medalist on European Spochan Championship (student of Kesic sensei),

and Ivica Zdravkovic, KIAI founder and Serbian Spochan coach.
